pause

the project 'pause' is based on my personal experiences with brief descriptions of the spaces I have always loved since childhood. It lives in stillness. The design acknowledges the significance of of the quiet and slow sounds of the street I lived in. To a large degree, various fragments of the design are based on lived experiences and everything else I already know about paused and silent spaces. To me, architecture can act as an oasis, that I associate with attributes such as composure, warmth, relief and refuge..I wish to translate these associated feelings into an atmosphere and hence create an opportunity of pause.

the soft gleam of the striking blue ips staircase that acts a comfortable space to sit and read. there is an opening in the wall, at the foot of the staircase giving you a glimpse of the existing trees around

The filleted rectangular large opening on the slab, large enough to get enough light into the space and become a point to sit or gather. The soft edges of the building create a level of intimacy and provide for an opportunity to create ones own niche.

there are large open spaces with the hint of the surrounding opening into the sky from slight moments. This gets in warm natural sunlight inside the space and reveals fine particles of the air. The objects under the sun, are more sensed than seen and creates a setting in the entire space

the idea of following a continuous yet fragmented blue stone projected across the building triggers a sense of seduction in journey. The brightness and the shadow from the square openings creates an interesting junction to pause sense the interior space in its surrounding.
